Commodities Middle Office - INVESTMENT BANK

A blue ribbon Investment Bank is looking for a senior analyst to help support the growth Commodities Front Office.

 

Role

 

• Supporting the Commodities front office to execute and process trades

• Processing the settlements of OTC and Commodity trades both soft and hard with large focus on Agri and Mining

• Manage all queries internally from Trading Desk and Product Control and externally from Ship brokers etc, via liaison with areas of the Bank such as Front Office Sales & Trading ,  Documentation, Credit Risk, Technology, Operations & Legal and Compliance

• Support business with new product development and take on, from a risk and operations standpoint

• Manage the delivery of monthly settlements to target deadlines, involving preparation, agreement and settlement of invoices for physical and financial commodity contracts. 

• Oversight and delivery of  targets for settlements processing and resolution of fails/breaks/exceptions

• Static data maintenance for counterparties and internal accounts

• Review and delivery of the set up and maintenance of reference data for counterparties

• Ensure risk controls are maintained, understood, documented and adhered to within the middle and back office environments

 

Individual

 

• Direct experience of Commodities in a  Middle Office or Operational environment

• Excellent understanding of the lifecycle of a trade

• Direct exposure to supervision and sign off responsibilities

• Exposure to Calypso, Wall St or Murex desirable

• Knowledge of FX options, OTC or derivatives desirable

• Ability to re-engineer a process from initial problem analysis through to solution implementation.
